After a while he recovers his health, and starts working for Nick, who secretly lives in a villa by Lake Yamanaka. At the villa Takaya meets Suzuko Ohse, who is well known as a good navigator, and her brother, Hangoro.While Takaya takes Nick and Suzuko around the Mt. Fuji area, he starts to get interested in a car rally. He thinks this may be within his reach, though he knows the Grand Prix is not yet. Suzuko also has a secret dream ... Takaya keeps on testing and modifying his car to qualify to compete at the world champion rally, Car Rantia Stratos. He finally completes a multiple wheeled rally model, with four front wheels and four rear ones in a line--a car that can be driven for a long time under any bad conditions.The time has finally come for this year's Grand Prix races, with the first one to be held in Spain. Takaya's eight wheeled Katori car is unveiled formally for the first time to considerable attention and popularity. However, probably because of his lack of experience, Takaya finishes as number five. The winner, of course, is Nick with his deep red Ferali.After that race, Takaya participates in various Grand Prix races in France, England, Germany, Italy, etc. all aspart of his never-ending challenge to fulfill his dream of becoming GRAND CHAMPION.
